Outdoor Chair DIY (an Ana White plan)

Not long ago I discovered #AnaWhite's amazing catalog of free woodworking plans. IT IS AMAZING. It can filter the plans by room, furniture type, experience level, etc.

You can take on any project according to your comfort level.

And you can make your own furniture. FOR CHEAP.

This modern outdoor chair plan can be found here.

I am not going to tell you how to make this chair. Use the plan. I will walk you through how I used this Ana White plan, how I unknowingly modified the plan, and the consequences of this, and how I styled this chair to my liking in the end.

First off, Justin has done lots of woodwork. I am a bumbling, cussing through it, amateur. His helpful suggestions and patience certainly guided me on the better way to go about it. I also will just do whatever I want sometimes and and he will have me stop and measure or check an angle again just in case. I need that.

We got to work on the sides:

Then I put the tops on the arm rails.

Here is where things started going differently...

So all in all it does look similar to the Ana White chair. BUT I guess I ended up putting my own spin on it due to lack of reading comprehension on my part.

No harm done. Lots of lessons learned.

And after 3 cans of black #Rustoleum Painter's Touch 2x Ultracover Paint + Primer in black and Rust-oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover Clear Gloss. She is ready for her debut for around on the back porch.

And I need a glass of wine.
